What do you recommend? Looking for something that’s reliable, easy to build, uses a 22LR barrel liner, and a minimum number of hardware parts. I attempted a Harlot (I believe it was v1.1) but only got light primer strikes. So I want to try again. I still have some barrel liner left over. I don’t want to spend more than about $20 on hardware parts.
Ideally it would have a 16" barrel, or if not it could be easily modified to have a longer barrel. It can be single shot, but bonus points if it can shoot more than one. More bonus points if it has a UFA-compliant option.
$20 is a hard ask, but 10/22 hybrids like the Decimator or the Galileo R2 are perfect. You need a bolt and mags, preferably you’d throw a real barrel in as well but the proto-barrel can be substituted.
I want to like it but it’s out of my budget right now. I’m in debt paydown mode so toys have to be super cheap. Thinking of doing a Songbird since I have most everything I need.
This hobby is not cheap xD
It’s worth it though, after you move to decent rifle cartridges it becomes a viable means of defense.
Easy 22 build is the EZ22

debt is bad guns are good. Don’t carry debt so you can buy guns!!!
NOW you tell me
Hitchhiker is one of the cheapest 22lr builds but the hardware from MAF, including the barrel, is still $80.
I was just looking at that one. Since I have barrel material it’d only be $50. But any $50 I get right now is going towards the debt.
Think I’ll try a Songbird, even though it has the heavy trigger pull. Wonder how difficult it would be to modify the breech to accept a drilled-out dime?
And then some time later a G22v4 to get a long boi
