Venturing out into engineering filaments should happen after you learn how to tune your printer and filament profile. It will stop you from needing to ask other people how best to print filament on your machine. as Kopsis pointed out, the only real comparison that makes sense is the TDS.

You need to remove material from the front leg of the trigger timing bar until you get clean bolt cycling. Ensure everything is lubricated. Then, once the bolt cycles, perform a function test starting with the safety. Once you establish that the safety is functional, attempt to function test in SEMI. It will likely reset the trigger. Slowly remove material from the same front leg until it no longer resets in SEMI. Then complete a full function check of all positions.

this isnt how you time/tune a kabuto.

qidi/fusrock/phaetus are all the same so if you want their PET/PPA just buy whatever is cheaper. I still haven’t found anything that beats the price/perf of sirayatech though.

If you think it’s diminishing returns to go from PM pet-cf to bambu lab pet-cf, why would you choose it over Sirayatech, which is more performant than PMs offering AND much cheaper? You can get PET-CF from ST for 37-34$/kg vs 25$/.5KG (50$/kg).

PM comes in last in every test except for Impact Resistance (which is a fail) and price (because they used the 3kg price.

The PM offering was designed with printability over performance and comes in last place in creep, 3-point bending resistance, tensile, layer adhesion (enclosed)

Where is ST Pet-cf is the cheapest tested and basically always comes in either 2nd or tied for 2nd.

What is “normal” pa6-cf vs the green one and why isn’t this post showing a chart between the two filaments in question? Pa6-cf and pa6-gf.

Based on some very lengthy discussions, both in person and via discord with polymakers material science rep and their director of product development, unless you are playing to dye the filament, there is no reason to use pa6-gf over pa6-cf…if cost is an issue, there are other filaments better suited.

For the most part, if you dont need your hand held, I would steer clear from polymakers PA/PET offerings. They are geared towards printability (think open-air printers) instead of performance.

Sirayatech on the other hand, has amazing performance for very low price. I have tested a fair bit of PPA-CF (at 62$/kg and 45$/kg if you print with .5mm or larger nozzle, they have a special batch) and have been very happy. However, latest this month they are releasing PPA-gf at 45$/kg and I will have some in for testing soon.

I am assuming you are talking about bambu lab PAHT which as mentioned is just a marketing team (although, PPA is not a specific chemical name either iirc)

Bambu lab PAHT is WAY overpriced for what you are getting, especially relative to sirayatechs offerings.

they have a 45$ variant if you are printing .6mm and above. Has a larger nominal cf fiber length. This version will NOT be restocked as it was an upstream supply mistake. I have tested it down to .4 without issues, buy YMMV.

Also, within a month they will release PPA-GF which I expect to be the best value for performance filaments in our space. 45$ at launch, dropping to sale price around 38$

You haven’t given us really enough information. Does it pass the function test? Have you tried a printed version?

I have tested a few printed versions but had trouble with the metal SCS parts
