  • Last update in case anyone was wondering what mount I ended up with. It's a little higher than I want but there is nothing that is exactly right. It clears the irons and is hollow so you "could" use them as backup but the cheek riser makes it so you really can't.

I couldn't mention it in reddit but psg1 repro barrels are $850 cheapest I could find. If someone knows a cheaper place or maybe a shop that could make one, let me know. The reason I kept this G3 unmodified is so if I wanted to do a more accurate psg1 then change this back to G3 furniture.

  • Centerfire/apex is where I got it last year but last I checked, g3 kits were oos for both. Cetme still in stock. I link to a couple places in the pack. The hkp kit is the same price as it comes with a mag. G3 is 190 with barrel but separate vs cetme 125 with barrel attached (150 with bayonet which is a good deal too). Last I checked both steel and alum g3 mags were 10 but cetme mags were on sale for 4. Both mags will fit both flats but I can't remember if I checked if they feed.

  • I often find sunlu is wet out of the box and should be dried for 24 hours just for good measure. You have a partial clog that needs unclogging before further troubleshooting.

    Builders pack has dropped.

I still need a higher scope mount so I can put the rear sight back on.

https://hkparts.net/parts-kits/hk-g3-parts-kit-fmp/ G3 parts kit are currently on sale. Cetme c is still normal price. Robertrtg has correct cetme c flats in stock, as well as their g3.

  • The feeding issue is a known issue and is tolerance related to the mag/mag release which can be fixed but I had real life responsibilities and haven't gotten to it. I recycle all the basic functionality on all my designs and no one has any issues with them that aren't related to the builder messing up. But this mag release is different as none of the others used a paddle and it just needs some adjustment. The fix is just the mag paddle and/or mag so nothing major will need to be reprinted when I ever fix it.

Any other issue is common to diy 22 builds as people think they are simple but it's really going down the deep end. They are now responsible for every single part in the gun being done right or it doesn't work. People keep suggesting them to beginners and I would never suggest any diy 22 as a beginner build. OOB from bolt weight is the most common issue I get contacted about. There is a large variety of 22 ammo and many people don't understand how bolt weight relates to ammo or they don't know what specs make 22 standard velocity.

I mostly do 22 replicas and typically the only issue is the limited space for bolt weight. Luckily this doesn't require tungsten to get the right weight as it's expensive but it limits easy adjustability when I am on the edge of minimum volume needed for cheaper weights.

  • I use the same ejector design and it's never been an issue. Some people have brought up the same concern but there just isn't enough force on 22 to wear it.

Instead of a jig you can just print these all out to use as a template and trace it on your sheet metal.

  • Easy with a dremel cutting wheel. It's 1.5mm and all straight cuts. You can't get the right shape with a drill so would require at least a dremel using a washer

  • It needs to be flow through so I don't have to replace the locking piece. The ftn flow is quite chonky so I'm not sure what I'll be doing.

  • Oh I forgot the receiver reinforcement plate.

Yall are getting another teaser as I'm still waiting on my scope. Sunlu pa6cf, bambu pa6 brown, eono3d matte tpu. I think it needs a suppressor since I don't have the long barrel.

  • Here's before parkerizing.

  • I used a 12 ton which had no issue. A smaller one could probably be used. It's the pin that really holds it.

  • Some people have different definitions of demil but it's a milsurp fmp parts kit using a receiver flat. Hkp is overpriced most of the time. This was from centerfire or apex back when they were 190 with barrel. Now it's harder to find but the cetme c kits are still cheap and plentiful.

I had recently got a cetme kit to do as well because I want to keep the wood furniture on it but 150 for parts kit with bayonet. $5 mags. Then the receiver flat and weldments was another 140.

I'm using a cheap $110 flux welder, another 40 for gloves and helmet and that's everything.

  • It's easy just expensive but I have other builds and uses for the tank and solution so I can justify the price.

I used a scotch pad to clean up some spots and rough up the surface as I don't have a media blaster. Then brake cleaner to make sure it's clean. Some stuff like the grip module, small parts, mag catch, charging handle, flash hider, etc, I didn't remove the old parkerizing as you can parkerize on top of old so they just got brake cleaner. Plug the barrel, heat up the mix in the tank (I have a propane burner), soak for 20min, flipping every 5 if not hanging and it's done. Sprayed it off with water to rinse off any solution, let dry and oil.

It's a lot less work than some bluing methods. Welding and doing the rest of the build is a hundred times more work and skill needed.

  • I still suck at welding but it came out good enough. Also was my first time parkerizing.

    FMP HK G3

Excuse the lack of releases, family member health issue. I know a lot of people are waiting on the ak22 release which hasn't been worked on since january but I should start back up again and finish yky as well. I've been sitting on this g3 kit for over a year so really wanted to finish this first. The psg1 furniture is still moisture conditioning before I put them on. I'll be releasing a builders pack with all the goodies for doing a flat build once I can take a pic of it. All of the stuff is already out there, I just remixed some stuff and it would be nice to have everything all in 1 pack.

  • You still have to deal with typical questionable creality quality. It's one reason the centurion carbon gets suggested more often.

  • I believe there is an opsec guide posted somewhere and it needs to be linked on the sidebar. A lot of people outside the US have the same concerns and questions.

  • It may look like a lot but it's not and is very easy

  • All of them must be done otherwise it's considered easily convertible and treated the same as an actual machine gun. Stock, receiver, and fcg all need to be capable of holding parts for semi auto only.

    FDE ODG color comparison

I tried to color correct it the best I could but it was just an online editor. It's a relative comparison anyways and if you have one, you can compare with the photo and get an idea. It might have been better to take the photo in the sun because the blue sky made blue highlights but this is good enough for now.

I'll probably be asked about the container. It's ezy storage 32L and walmart has a 6 pack for $54. Edit: It will actually hold 10 if spools are put in long ways but this was a better orientation for comparison.
