  • Had to switch gears from my MK project and print this!

  • Sweet! I've switched to a .6 a while back and need to just adjust my width now. Everything else was using your settings. I was using .62 width.

  • It was warm today, so got to test the MK Four with the Proto barrel and the stock barrel (with a slip on comp).

The upper with the Proto barrel worked great. Took about 5 shots to break it in so it would feed. Also had to tweak the printed ejector a little. The other upper with the stock bull barrel had to much of the "duckbill" removed so it popped up every shot. I'll replace that upper soon so I can get the stock barrel config tested.

  • Music wire. Precision Brand. 0.051"

  • Changeable grips would be nice.

  • Finally together and functional tests succeed. Now to get some ammo.

  • I believe the safety was removed for more strength. I'd have to compare the boomer with standard frame to see where that strength is though.

  • Let the building commence!

  • I have 2 BCA uppers on printed lowers. They work fine. They are heavy. LRBHO (last round bolt hold open) needs a special 22lr replacement if you use a standard AR lower design. deAR22, HD22, EZ22 lowers should all work if memory serves me.

  • Getting used to Lemmy and lost the private message that was sent yesterday (12/6).

Anyway, message again if you get this.

Current progress is seeing about fitting a mkiv barrel to the printed receiver and updating the few versions I'm working on in solidworks. Hope to have something up by the end of the year. Anytime that has mkiv parts and wants to help out, let me know.

  • Waiting for my Colt Mustang II from EGP. Magazine arrived today.

  • Got it fully assembled, function test successful. I'll be documenting and getting files assembled this weekend to take sailing.

Next steps are to disassemble the frame and get it modeled.

  • I was thinking it looked Glocked. Haha. Working on an under barrel piccatiny for it.

  • When you say you have a mkiv kit, what parts are you referring to? I'm still working out what mkiv parts are interchangable with the mkiii and older frame/fcg wise.

  • The serialized part is the receiver. BOM and documentation will be included once I get things ironed out. Patience grasshoppers. 😁

  • Depends. Bolts are about $20-30. Frame internals are about $35-45 (MKIV). Finding MKIII and older internals is expensive as there seems to be only Volquartsen etc available.

  • The frame at the moment is stock Ruger MKIV 22/45. I'll be going over the model in Kilo's version as it's 22/45 style, but for MKIII and older. I plan to convert it to a MKIV.

    Reviving the MKR

After scouring the sea for Ruger MK models, I've blended a few together. NotaGuntuber had a MKIV step that I flat-topped, added the barrel plug from DB's MKCarbon jig and the MarkR by Pixel_Smoke/Insertmeow barrel shroud. Just got the barrel put together today. Function test hopefully this week if it's not too frozen outside. Once I get this fine-tuned, I'll drop the step, SolidWorks and STLs on the sea.

EDIT: I forgot to add that the grip frame is a MKIV 22/45 that I picked up from Wirthwein. Will be modeling that using the Kilo v2 version as the base.

So for this particular build, I have the Ruger 22/45 frame, Ruger bolt and printed pull ring, printed receiver, barrel plug, carbon fiber tube and the 22lr barrel liner inside that tube, stock Ruger magazine and printed 22/45 base plate.
