  • This is great news thank you!! null22 suggest 6mm ID tube but do you think a 5.5mm ID tube will improve accuracy? or just doesnt matter since its smoothbore and wont be too much accurate either way. Perhaps i will just try both anyways, they are cheap.

6x8mm Smoothbore Barrel for semi-auto builds. Is possible?

Hello, I am live in heavy restrictive country so i have no access to firearm part. I have made couple single-shot builds with simple 8mm OD 6mm ID stainless steel tube, however im unsure about using for semi-auto builds. I currently decide on how to make rifling (ECM, machining a button, carbide cutter etc) but while i acquire tools and parts, i wonder if is possible to use 6mm x 8mm stainless steel tube for semi-auto build? tube ID (6mm) wider than bullet OD (5.5mm) so is it possible to build up pressure for blow-back? perhaps is smoothbore steel tube with 5.4mm ID, instead of 6mm, any better for semi auto build? or i must use some rifled barrel in order to make semi-auto function?

secondary question: can use a printed suppressor with a 6x8mm smoothbore build? i am scared for bullet hitting baffles and blowing up suppressor, so i have not tried yet.

any help is great!! thanks friends <3

  • ik this is old comment and im not even sure that replying works for archive post but would you be able to send some pic of extractor you fabricated? currently trying to do same thing

  • i had many headaches from needing different settings for even just different brands of PLA+. So now i do full calibration for each new filament brand i get, even if its same type. I also heard polymaker pla-pro needed slower speed so i thought i would see what everyone else uses. I already finished calibrating it, i suppose i just wanted something to compare with.

  • I saw some harlot builds in the Odyssee who use a normal 8mm x 6mm stainless steel tube as barrel. He fired some shots with it and it worked better than expected, so I think both versions will work as they both have thicker walls, but perhaps test with some string anyways.

  • thank yuo very much for the recommendations! the guide was very helpful, i thought i was being safe with what i mentioned but ill perhaps destroy my couple builds while i clean up. they were easy ones but it will hurt haha

and when you say it can fire indoors, do you mean with powder/bullet or only primer round? that is quite impressive either way. i did found that many of the complex suppressors were hard for my shitty printer to print properly though, mainly just the floating portions like at beginning of a new baffle, will definitely look at those you mention though thank you. just need to clean my PC's first

  • i believe the guide Kaewon mentions is from WeightFwd but i cannot find it anywhere, if anybody has link it would be amazing ty!

  • oh nice, i will for sure look for that, that would be quite helpful thank you! I am also a big fan of your designs btw, you make awesome stuff, especially for us DIY folks

Security and ordering parts outside USA

    Hello again my friends

I wanted to ask you guys for opinions about security and ordering parts/forum posting/general security when doing all things 3D2A. I am OUTSIDE of the USA (cant say country for obvious reasons) and in very heavy restriction country. I do not have access to ammo, barrel liners, part kits etc, so everything must do DIY. Currently use cut-open nailgun blank (~40% powder) with airgun slug crimped inside for .22 build and nailgun blank for 15mm build. Barrel is smooth 6mm id steel tube.

My main question is about security or being anonymous when ordering parts that are firearm related. Not strictly firearm parts like AR FCG parts or glock rails (unavailable here anyway), but still closely firearm related, for example a 5.5 id hydraulic pipe, ECM tools/materials, suppressor thread adapters, or even the nailgun blanks and airgun slugs. Do you think ordering on amazon is okay or i will be subject to police questions? They are not quite only firearm parts as they have o

  • wow nvm there even is an included guide on 15mm projectiles, these guys are awesome haha

  • oh wow i literally downloaded both pen-15 and projectile dysfunction last night haha, i like how pen-15 doesnt look like firearms. definitely easier to explain away. i was also looking at the "rambo" launcher that is designed on the harlot but i can't seem to find the files for the life of me. and yes currently brown/green ramset's + airgun slugs are how i can make diy .22 ammo, so i will use the same ramsets for the 15mm launcher. do you know if i need anything else for projectiles? aside from filament and ramset, do i need to fill them with anything?

  • unfortunately im outside US, although it is maybe good for my wallet lol. it is also very hard to get ammo for me, i figured 9mm may be easiest to make, and perhaps better than using ramsets and pellets in a .22 build or something lol. of the ones ive seen so far the nutty-9 looks the esiest to DIY, how do you think the urutau compares?

  • i think i hastily grouped them all together as FGC9 variants, i should probably just go through the readme's of each one. i am outside the US though so this is all "theoretical" heh. but yeah the fully diy-able designs like fgc9, ez22, kaewon's designs all look really cool

  • ohh i had no idea they were all so different, i probably just assumed they were remixes with small tweaks but thats good to know ty! both YKY and EZ/HD22 definitely look fun, i think im just a fan of the fgc9 "aesthetic".

Differences between FGC9 and all variants? Which is your favorite? Which is easiest?

Hi everyone, pretty new here and trying to determine what is different between all the FGC9 variants and would appreciate any summarys anyone can offer. I am having trouble separating them as there exist so many variations and remixes. So what I have put together from my own research is:

    • FGC9 MK1 - original, possibly have option to use an airsoft FCG (i think).

    • FGC9 MK2 - most recent FGC9, option for weld-less bolt.

    • FGC9 STINGRAY - rifle length FGC9.

    • NUTTY 9 - easier BCG assembly, all metric FGC9.

    • PARTISAN 9 - not sure (maybe integrally suppressed?).

    • URUTAU - bullpup FGC9.

    • REBEL 9 - not sure (im assuming use for scorpion mags).

    • ROGUE 9 - not sure.

    • MOD 9 - upgraded/current version of the OG derwood AP9. i heard it is a bit more challenging technically.

    • WTF 9 - not sure.

I am thrilled there are so many options but it is also a bit overwhelming when choosing.

Which is your favorite version to make? Which is the easiest to DIY with hardw
