Hey friends,

I’m writing to see if there is any interest in a DIY parts kit for the SCS Super Safety.

Kits would be for 3-pos.

The kit would include:

- 2x Grade 5 Titanium Wear plates (.04" + 0.06") - tops machined flat
- 2x 1.5mm 304 Stainless Steel Rods - pre-cut to length
- 1x Rounded Brass Detent Pin

Price-wise I’m thinking $10. What do y’all think?


It’s a fun project, I’ve had mine working very well. This cuts down a lot of the SCS and Amazon shopping logistics.

You’d just need a small mallet and some epoxy, maybe a 1.5mm drill bit if your printer isn’t super dialed to clear out the holes.

I’ll go by the shop and take a photo of what I’m thinking.


I also have pre-cut mil-spec triggers for sale for $20. But if you’re in the DIY camp - I think I’d leave it to you for making your own cutting jig and doing your own trigger.

I could ostensibly include an uncut trigger for another $10. But I’m not sure if that’s a value add.

LMK if there is interest. Or if the price point is off, etc. Only worth doing if y’all would appreciate it. What do you guys think?

    Out of curiosity, how has this build performed for you? The SCS version I mean - I know the SS design itself works. I don’t feel like I ever saw many reports on its actual performance, but I hope it’s good!

      I have 600 rounds on one cam. Overall the epoxy makes it lighter and stronger. The titanium has no visible wear.

      I have a gassy suppressed .300blk build. Managed to melt a PLA+ lever after 450 rounds.

      Haven’t had the same issue with PA6-CF levers.

      I think reducing gas and timing is more important with printed levers than metal.

      But once you do that is pretty solid imo.

      I have to drive pretty far to test sadly.

    Hey! As the poster of the project, great job putting this together for a reasonable price (some dude before was trying to charge $60 a pack).

    I’ve gotten reports well into the hundreds on these builds, and have not yet had a failure or heard of a failure.

      $60 for the raw components is asinine.

      Yeah I have 600 rounds through one cam. No issues yet. I melted a PLA lever around 450 rounds suppressed and gassy, started making them from PA6-CF after that.

      I’m in discussions with a metal finishing shop to coat the grade 5 titanium to further increase wear resistance. Might increase the price by a few bucks, but should be bulletproof after that.

    Quick question, why would you need a cut trigger? Mine function tests with an unmodified milspec trigger and the docs never mentioned any trigger mod. As far as I know that’s just a hoffman thing. Same with the rounded off detent. I used a pointy one with the kak 3pos selector and the jig to file it.

      You need the 45* cut to allow for switching between safe, frt, and semi.

      The “Rounded” cut is a bit up in the air on necessity. If found with an uncut trigger your trigger pull is much heavier.

      This is for the SCS Super Safety - not the TURD btw.

        Oh I’m an idiot, I’m so sorry. I saw SCS and assumed turd. This is neat, looks hoffman pattern but a lil different.

    Question, I see there is a .4 and .63. How would I know which one I need to use?

      The plates are .04" and .063" together they get to .13" which is enough to engage the cut-trigger. You’ll stack them on each other on the rods.
