For those using a P1S, what are the pros/cons of various firmware versions? I’ve seen mentioned that some versions locked down more control over the printer, but I haven’t seen mentioned what exactly it changed or what versions did so. I plan to just use the printer in LAN mode, so are there any benefits to updating the firmware, or should I just leave it as it shipped?

1.7 is the last version to work reliably with orcaslicer. 1.8 still allows non-bambu services to connect, but prints from orcaslicer don’t start. 1.9 is locked down unless you go LAN only.

That’s what I was worried about. It’s on 1.6 out of the box, but im seeing that in order to use my AMS 2 Pro that it needs 1.8. Will Orca not work on LAN? I dont really feel like I need nor want everything I do going through Bambu services.

Orca works on LAN only which is what I use since I also have an Ams 2 pro. Im on the latest firmware and latest Orca update and have had only 1 issue. For whatever reason, I cannot print from an external spool with Orca when I have my AMS’s connected. If I need to print with an external spool, I use bambustudio, but this mightve been fixed in the latest Orca update, I haven’t tested it.

Also, turn off the legacy network plug-in in Orca, otherwise your AMS 2 won’t work. Other than that, its smooth.

Appreciate the info, im on the latest version of Orca, just waiting for the buffer to come in so that I can use my AMS.

I bought the combo, and for whatever reason, Bambu shipped the printer, AMS, and additional parts I ordered as 3 separate shipments.
