  • If it's ok to possibly alter the design a little, maybe have it so the ejection port and charging handle cutout doesn't have a bend associated with it? Im not sure how much structural importance that bend has going along that whole side.

  • For the imminent CA law about criminalizing some degree of mere speech about 3D2A, would that apply to anyone not in CA? Maybe CA politicians/prosecutors would try to apply it to people in other states, maybe saying that they helped aid a crime in CA or whatever, but I'm not sure if that's even feasibly enforceable (yet).

  • Im not sure if you mean to specifically clone this design of UGV, but if you are interested in more generally any UGV capable of mounting a yeeter on it, then theres a huge number of videos and tutorials on ones that use lower-impact things like airsoft, paintball, or nerf blasters. Plenty of the designs could be altered if necessary too to handle something with more recoil.

    Burning Lasers are Neat

Being able to burn things at a distance has a LOT of applications if you get creative with it. For example, if there's any adversary materiel that would be better if it were on fire, and you'd rather not get too close to it. People should keep this in mind more I think.

  • Electromagnetic Launchers (Coilguns and Railguns) @forum.guncadindex.com

    Introduction

Coilguns and railguns (electromagnetic launchers) are an interesting area of technology that has much potential for small-arms scale designs. For example, several hobbyist projects shown on the internet (see below) demonstrate kinetic energies up to 50 J (36 ft-lb) and muzzle energies around 120 m/s (393 ft/s). That's way short of a firearm, but actually within the realm of bows or crossbows, as well as low-velocity launchers like flare launchers. Coilguns and railguns aren't really electrically complicated either, since they're directly analogous to some common types of rotary electric motors in how they produce a force or torque. Hopefully people find these interesting.

    Examples of well-performing hobbyist coilguns include: (1) https://youtube.com/shorts/5vRxPeuDqeQ (2) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5a4ZcsGYLRs https://www.youtube.com/shorts/G4_D2fhIGVg

    Youtube Channel--Civil Defense Engineer

This channel has some good videos on civilian-made UAS, with a particular focus on introducing them to the 3d2a sort of community because any sort of munitions delivery or guidance systems are essential to any combatant force now.

    fuel-air gun build and explanation

Not my video, but this is a pretty impressive gun that uses butane-air mixture to shoot various projectiles like steel balls or rods, and it's autoloading and electronically controlled. Nominally it is a "potato gun" but really it doesnt shoot potatos (maybe it could shoot a french fry though)

  • Thats great to know, thanks.

  • Or maybe look into I2P? I think it's no more difficult than making an onion site but I forget if it's like, inaccessible from the regular WWWeb

  • So if all our data is currently on your Lemmy instance, is it possible to migrate accounts to another Lemmy Instance? Like the reverse of an existing Lemmy account or instance federating and interacting on this forum. And in the event where the host of your Lemmy instance is taken down, would it still be possible to migrate to another instance?
