Praying for you 🕯️ O Great Mita 💝

  • Cool! That sounds quite straightforward. 😊 I guess at the very least I'll single out my graphic drivers (Intel)? 🤔 I wonder though, how much space and processing power can one actually save with USE flags. Like, if one were to really "squeeze" them for optimization. 😆

  • Thanks for these amazing tips! But instead of a tarball, you threw me a curveball! Sorry... I'm sleepy and my pun brain has taken over... I hadn't considered Artix! And now I see that it's even compatible with OpenRC! Not that I have any preferences on init systems, though. Maybe I should try that first. I'll think it over! Thanks! 😊

  • Thanks! I'll definitely keep that in mind! 😊

  • Permanently added to my programming playlist. Also, I suddenly excel at Gentoo.

  • That's beautiful! Have you actually digitized any of it? I began doing that a few years ago with my mom, listening to and recording her telling stories about each and every picture. I think I used some cheap - but not of low quality by any means - Canon scanner for the digitizing. My whole family seemed to appreciate the collection. We've done about 200 pictures so far. Only... A thousand left? 😅

We need some good energy amongst all the greedy capitalist corpo DRM shit that's going on:

    1. Post apocalypse. No internet, no digital piracy. You managed to save one laptop that's in your possession. What's that one piece of data that you would've wished survived alongside you and your laptop, be it video, audio, executable or whatever? No wrong answers!

My answer: Stargate SG-1 (TV series), some 🔞 content and Linux.

    1. No post apocalypse, just the real world as it stands today. What's one piece of data that you have been hunting for a long time but still haven't been able to find or obtain it? No data shaming!

My answer: Erutan's discography in .flac 😥

  • Cool!

  • Please tell me they actually posted this? 😂

  • There are many options. It's important to do some research on these options. It's also important to know why you want to choose a certain provider. Check their Terms of Service and Privacy Policy at the very least. For now, I'm looking into IVPN.

  • I totally agree! It's just that I have two routers setup with them, running 24/7, and I have configured mom's devices with my account and I don't have the time to reconfigure all this with something else at the moment. 😩

  • No idea. Although it does fit the Swedish stereotype: white, middle-class, owns some means of production, male. And, for some reason, also: Holocaust denying, racist, neo Nazi, populist, revisionist, neo liberal. [Insert "not all X are Y" argument here.]

I'm going to use up my remaining balance (<100 days) and then switch to IVPN if this guy hasn't been excommunicated yet by that time.

  • This is the only reason for why I haven't demanded a refund of my remaining balance yet. I'm holding out for a dismissal or something.

  • I haven't been this excited since I discovered that I can look at boobs whenever I want by typing "boobs" in a search engine. The year was 1995, I think.

  • Fortunately:

    1. I quit the editor without saving the changes
    2. I have a previous version that still contains the block in question
    3. I have a few onions on which I can blame my tears

    "qBittorrent is already running"

    SOLVED: Thank you @[email protected]

I just upgraded and rebooted my Arch Linux system like I have done a gazillion times before. I was firing up my various services and servers - qBittorrent-nox among them - and I wasn't able to qbittorrent-nox -d it. This has never happened before. An error message says that I cannot launch qBittorrent-nox again, because it is already running, which it isn't. I ps -e | grep torrent-ed, systemctl list --all-ed, but there really is no qBittorrent-nox running.

Has this happened to anybody here? Please advise.
