Help w/ NFA Gun Trust & Sequence of Events

So here is my scenario: I currently posses 2 stamps submitted by me as an individual. I plan on submitting several form 1’s for diy cans and a few sbr’s in the very near future. I would like to setup an NFA Gun Trust for use/access by multiple users and for ease of passing the items on when I die.

    My questions:

    1. I’ve read you don’t want to add trustees until after your forms have been approved, otherwise ALL trustees have to submit paperwork, prints etc for each form. Is this accurate?
    2. If Q1 above is accurate, can you establish a trust with just yourself on it, no trustees?
    3. If the answer to Q2 is yes, it would seam the easiest course of action would be to setup my trust with just myself, once that’s complete submit two form 4’s to transfer my existing items into the trust, submit my flurry of form 1’s through the trust (not as an individual), wait for all approvals to come through, then when I’m satisfied I am done submitting forms (for the time being of course) amend the trus
  • Thanks man! Yea I’ve been back and forth on the color lol. It sounded good in my head, then when I started printing I was like hmmmmm 🤨. Then when I was fitting it together I was like ok yea that’s cool. It’s something different at least!

    DB Galileo R2 X Decimals Decimator-22

So I completed my first build! It’s a DB Firearms Galileo R2 crossed with Decimals Decimator-22 lower. All printed with Sunlu PLA+ 2.0 in Roasted Chestnut & Black, hot and slow with 300blkfde’s settings.

I went with an 8.5” Ballistic Advantage bbl, factory new bolt & charging handle, Moon Duck stainless mag catch & spring, mil spec AR FCG (with modified hammer) & official DB hardware kits. Capped with a KAK mini flash can, Black Dog Machine magazine, and a cheap ass set of pic rail flip up fiber optic sights for $15 from Amazon, (which are surprisingly decent btw). Haven’t shot it yet, just finished it tonight, hoping to take it out this weekend.

    How did I do?

  • Yea that’s how I found this one. Haven’t seen much else locally at this price point so far. But I’ll keep looking! May end up going the Amazon route if I have to, but I’d rather snag one local for a deal if possible.

  • lol nah I’m in the Midwest, I just happened upon it browsing marketplace looking for something to dry and anneal with as I am working my way towards getting into PA6CF. My current air fryer works amazing on the dehydrate setting for all my other filaments but doesn’t quite hit the temp mark for the nylons.

  • Well shit. That figures. 🤨

Vacuum oven for drying & annealing?

I have a lead on a really cheap, basically new Stonylab 24l bench top vacuum oven like this one: Stonylab Vacuum Oven I am curious if this would be a good option for drying and annealing filaments and prints for our purposes?

Temps and internal chamber dimensions seem conducive to the purpose. Not sure if the vacuum part helps or not.. I have an Amazon vacuum pump already if it would work with this unit.

The price would be about $200 after gas, but it’s a four hour drive each way to pick it up.

Would this work? A good option? A pain in the ass to use? Not worth the effort? I’m out of my element here..

    Thanks in advance!

  • Awww man I got all excited! 😂 all good. I still haven’t found anything. I got a pretty decent stash of these mags, it would sure be cool to be able to use a couple of em for a 3d2a build.

I’m also starting to think I dunno how to search properly on the sea either. I wade through tons and tons of random videos only finding a few actual files..

    Colt smg mag builds?

Just curious if there are any designs out there that use the 9mm colt smg stick mags? I’m still new to using the seas, but my search wasn’t able to come up with anything.

    Thanks in advance!

  • Yea I know I need to start looking into it. I have the free personal version of fusion, loaded it up once to try and play around but holy crap it’s so overwhelming. No idea where to even start!

  • Interesting! That remix 3 isn’t too bad now that I’m seeing it on yours. I might give that one a try and see how it comes out. Thanks for the pics!

Diff Galileo R2 pistol length hand guards?

Just curious if any one has made any other pistol length hand guards for the Galileo R2 that nestle neatly with the upper and blend in with the looks?

The ones that come in the distro aren’t doing it for me (the regular or unseenkilller versions). I really like the looks of the MPK version the best but it’s too long at 7.3”. I need about 6” to 6-1/4” length for use with an 8” barrel. Unfortunately I know nothing about editing things with CAD.

Hoping maybe someone may have made something different that would work with the rest of the GR2 build and look correct rather than like an after thought..?

    Thanks in advance!

  • Appreciate the reply!

  • How much for the 10/22 shorty barrel, bolt & charging handle??

  • Interesting, I’ll have to look into the foot sanding deal, hadn’t heard of that.

I’ll also try out the .16 layer lines and see if that helps on the supports.

    Thanks for the tips.

  • Few more pics of this lower. Overall I’m very impressed with how it came out for my first 2A print, even with the roughness on where the supports were.

I started working on them this evening a little by sanding with some mini files lightly. I think going slow and easy with the files and then some light finish sanding with sandpaper will clean them up pretty well.

  • Any advice on tweaks I could make to correct it? And yea I’ve been cautious to not mess with any of the orientation on the plate. Read early on in my research to generally not change the plate setups if at all possible.

  • I’ll definitely look into that!

  • Noted, thanks for the heads up.

  • I’ll post a pic of the top and sides cus I feel they turned out really good for my first go. Was just a bit put off by the undersides and support surfaces. These will just be range toys and to have fun projects to work with. Nothing serious enough for a professional print. That’s cool though, didn’t know you could do such a thing.

  • Yea I’m still not sure. I gotta clean some of it up as it still has little bits of supports stuck in places. This pic was after just popping all the supports off.

  • Help & Support @forum.guncadindex.com

So what’s my best bet on cleaning this up?

Hey guys, I’ve just completed my first prints. The top surfaces and sides came out really good, but the undersides came out a little rough. Especially where supports were, what’s the accepted standards for cleaning these areas up? Sandpaper, files, dremel?

What settings should I be looking at to make my next prints even better in these areas?

My setup: Qidi xplus3 Sunlu PLA + 2.0 (using its default filament profile in orca) @ 230/60 300blkfde’s orca/machine settings. 12 walls, 80% infill. Layer height: .2 Support distances: .19

    I appreciate the feedback!

  • Thanks for the rec’s. Tried them both today. I think I prefer Thunder so far..

    Preferred iOS app?

Hey all new to this, came over from the other site that likes to ban. Is there a recognized favorite iOS app for use with this Lemmy thing? I see two or three in the App Store but wondering what the favorite is? Still trying to figure this all out..

    Thanks in advance!
