Id love a real photo of the firing pin with it's new printed parts installed before inserting it in the slide. I looked at the included step but only the printed parts are represented. Am I correct in assuming the spring needs to be moved so it then pushes the firing pin in the direction opposite of it's normal iteration?
In the BOM of the pdf the Spring loaded bearing is listed twice with the same parts number but it says only one is required in each entry.
I just wanna confirm this is a typo and I'm not over looking something.
Sounds like You could have an awesome setup if you put the time into it. My biggest obstacle is money to invest in organizational stuff I've got about a 15x15 foot floor plan, one deskand only two shelves one of which holds printers and tons of random gun parts from 3 years worth of project accumulation.
So you did use settings slower than the speeds they claim on the ads? Which there's nothing wrong with doing that as a user if you're trying to go for maximum quality. Can you remember how much slower you made it?
If your curious why Im hyper focusing on this it's mostly because getting better visual/structural (<probably) quality from higher print speeds is more what I'm interested in and the engineering materials capacity is the cherry on top.
In the process of preparing a room to be my hobby room I consolidated most of my accumulated project hardware in a single container. I thought I'd show off a picture of it here so people can destroy me with reply photos of their superior hardware setups.
I'll eventually repost a better representation when I finish setting up the room. Assuming there's any interest in as boring a subject as this.
I was reading the Guide .pdf to find out the thicknesses for the DXF files The bolt face is 1.5mm and the extractor is 2.5mm but i cant find any thickness for the bolt rim anywhere. can someone help me out and tell me how thick the Bolt Rim is supposed to be ? and where did you find the info??
Assuming you're using mostly defaults or recommended settings (you said it's your first printer so I'm gonna assume you're not straying too far from provided settings and finding your feet-which you certainly seem to be doing it fast) I'm impressed with what it's giving you especially if you're not slowing down the speeds for additional quality. One common problem my printers have is the tendency to ghost features in the finish unless I slow it down but I can't find any in yours. I see a few overhang rough spots but that's about it. The orca looks great. Based off those pictures I'd buy one if I had the extra money.
wouldn't be surprised . I have a spool of the same brand and color I bought a month ago that I haven't opened however its already sucking in ambient air with a broken seal despite having only opened the box (not plastic bag) to check the color. they're not the only brand to I've noticed this occasionally happens to. It isn't much of a surprise considering the places they're coming from.
what build is this? I've always been hesitant to try a 1911 build due to all the different brands out there and not knowing what parts kit would work. I've always been under the impression not all parts are completely interchangeable regardless of brand like an AR is.
I've been on the fence about buying a centauri carbon. how are they? do you have any other printers you could compare it to? have you printed any pa6 yet? Id love to hear about your experience.
It was still fun even with it behaving like a single shot. I'll revisit the recession ruger once I'm able to get out to the range more. I'm only able to go shooting once every month or two now and cargo is limited so I only take the most promising or exciting projects with me.
The blue slide I couldn't tell you. It came from every gun parts as a partskit and idk how familiar you are with the site but they can be a step too far on the vague side of details in their listings. The black slide however is from Davison defense they have their own in house brand I guess you could call it. Idk if they actually machine the slides themselves or if it's some NIBs type company they contract but they're able to offer some really neat cuts. I think of them as being on the opposite spectrum end of km tactical like they focus on a few different cuts for all the popular models and lots of colors where as Davison defense is specializing in mainly g19 and g17 lots of slide cuts and maybe 4 colors none of them in cerakote and most of them are only in one color but they'll be really competitive in their pricing. I paid 200 b4 tax b and shipping for the slide, silver threaded barrel and the slide completion kit if I remember correctly.
I'm glad people are realizing that separating the hobby from reddit is the best thing that could happen for it short of repealing all 2a regulations or government subsidized ammo to encourage firearm competence .
Kak industries webpage has Mac bolts for 100 dollars. Dont know how long they'll be this low in price. There's an $85 blem bolt too but idk how many of those are available. I've got one it works with Glock and sten mags but the firing pin has a tendency to break and I got maybe 300 rounds through mine before it did that's actually how I saw the bolts on sale cause I was searching for a replacement firing pin. ( My firing pin breaking so soon could've been a one off however. My MAF arms bolt is twice as old and never given me problems)
Finally got to go shooting brought the kneelsun v2 along and it did relatively well for 50 bucks. In case the file doesn't upload I'm including a link to Google drive source of the video. I didn't have dentures in so it looks like I have no chin.
Just got my sticker...I mean order (whoops, Freudian slip there) from pembleton and sons. Before I go on I completely understand how trivial this all is... I got everything I paid for. I received it in a reasonable amount of time. This entire post is naught but exercise in complaining about free toss in's -- I get that and thus I don't expect anyone to take me or this post very seriously. I also appreciate the stuff too however if you're gonna spend extra money on candy to give away (I dont think anyone perceives bazooka joe bubble gum as cheap or anything so I can't explain it with "they're just cheaper") its likely it will be considered more of a treat to adults if the candy is of an obscure nature. Parts dispensed sent fizzy warheads which I haven't had since '01 for example. Not to crazy exotic or expensive but also not something you see. MAF sent the cinnamon equivalent which was fuckin scrumptious. At the end of the day bazooka joe isn't terrible and you didn't have to throw an
It should be obvious but I was going for a halo look. I originally chose the g19 for my first Glock because I loved how the Paragon9 looked. I finally broke down and built one... a year late.
I second the motion to inquiry. I need this in my life!
