After scouring the sea for Ruger MK models, I’ve blended a few together. NotaGuntuber had a MKIV step that I flat-topped, added the barrel plug from DB’s MKCarbon jig and the MarkR by Pixel_Smoke/Insertmeow barrel shroud. Just got the barrel put together today. Function test hopefully this week if it’s not too frozen outside. Once I get this fine-tuned, I’ll drop the step, SolidWorks and STLs on the sea.
EDIT: I forgot to add that the grip frame is a MKIV 22/45 that I picked up from Wirthwein. Will be modeling that using the Kilo v2 version as the base.
So for this particular build, I have the Ruger 22/45 frame, Ruger bolt and printed pull ring, printed receiver, barrel plug, carbon fiber tube and the 22lr barrel liner inside that tube, stock Ruger magazine and printed 22/45 base plate.
Got it fully assembled, function test successful. I’ll be documenting and getting files assembled this weekend to take sailing.

Next steps are to disassemble the frame and get it modeled.
Holy shit, thank you so much for this. I’ve recently tried to build Killo’s 22/45, and I’ve been struggling since I’m dumb, and it doesnt have a build guide. Tried using the instruction manual for the mkiii, but with limited success. I have a mkiv kit with a mkiii sear, disconnector, and trigger.
When you say you have a mkiv kit, what parts are you referring to? I’m still working out what mkiv parts are interchangable with the mkiii and older frame/fcg wise.
I got them for killo’s 22/45 and it takes mkii or iii, iv can be used if you dremel them. From what I read, the main ones are the trigger, disconnector bar, and sear. So I printed those from the mkiii reference model that hunteroftheyellowdog posted.
Honestly I just found a iv kit on ebay, then printed the sear, disconnector, and trigger from a mkiii in pa6, and hoping that would work. If not, then I’ll dremel the iv parts. Or just give in and buy the volquartsen kit, cause the mk sub said it’s amazing.
Glocks your Buckmark
Nothing personal kid.
I was thinking it looked Glocked. Haha. Working on an under barrel piccatiny for it.
It looks sick!
so to complete your build one would need a
-
frame - https://wirthweinguns.com/product/ruger-mark-iv-2245-frame-ecc-43960/
-
??
-
whats the serialized part that needs to be printed ?
USK provides a BOM with a part numbers and URLs.
that would be useful here too…
thanks!
The serialized part is the receiver. BOM and documentation will be included once I get things ironed out. Patience grasshoppers. 😁
good stuff! keep us updated!

Wait this is printed??
The frame at the moment is stock Ruger MKIV 22/45. I’ll be going over the model in Kilo’s version as it’s 22/45 style, but for MKIII and older. I plan to convert it to a MKIV.
That’s awesome. My only hangup on making kilos is how large the receiver is.
So whats printed and whats metal ? For your project, what factory/metal kit is needed for this ? Anything from the matrix precision website ? Ideally a printed frame + metal parts kit can be used to complete your build.

Isn’t this cheap to build too?
Depends. Bolts are about $20-30. Frame internals are about $35-45 (MKIV). Finding MKIII and older internals is expensive as there seems to be only Volquartsen etc available.
My biggest hang up has been finding a grip frame assembly that ain’t almost as much as a new MkIV. Could someone point me to a decently priced option?
Unfortunately, there isn’t one yet.
