The firing pin for this .380 build is off center, unfortunately I can’t do much about that without a complete rebuild. As you can see, I rotated the shell 3x to figure out if the firing pin was too high or too low. This happens also when I remove the firing pin limiting screw, so it’s not that…
What could be causing these light strikes and is this still viable or do I really need to rebuild everything? **Causes I could imagine: **
- firing pin too short
- Hammer spring too week
- firing pit spring too long/strong
- primer isn’t going off because it’s not being hit on center
Can I still set off the primer if it isn’t being hit perfectly on center? What’s the most likely culprit?
