So when I run the SS Manually it doesn’t release the hammer when the upper is on, but if I have the upper off it releases. So what’s happening is when the upper is on and I fire a round it resets the trigger and if I release the trigger and pull it again it will then allow for the hammer to drop. It’s like the trip isn’t pushing the SS lever far enough forward to allow the trigger to depress and drop the hammer. Have any of you ran into this or know what’s going on? The SS works perfect in my AR’s and in my DB alloy so I know that the trigger is cut right

Yeah, I got about 15 lmao. It seems like the slack that’s between the lever and the cam doesn’t allow the cam to be moved far enough. But let me throw you for a huge loop lol. Sometimes depending on how Cam and lever are positioned when I shut the upper it will work, but if I open the upper again and it’s not in that exact same spot it stops working.

It’s common on AR22s to have to shim the slot in the cam to snug up the lever a little bit. The alternative is to tweak the geometry of the trip. Bore Buddy makes an adjustable trip for that exact reason.

My guess would be that the trip isn’t moving the lever far enough.

You can rotate the cam by hand. And the slack range would change based on the initial position. The big question is if it’s in a functional position when you install the upper, does it fully return to that functional position after cycling.

If not you’d only get a round or two off before it shifts.

When it does function I will get like 5-7 round burst and then goes to dead trigger, I the. Rack it and I’ll get like 5-7 more and then Dead trigger and it repeats that. But it only does that if I have it in that “just right” position when I close the upper.

Yeah so it definitely seems like it’s “wiggling” out of spec. Is your upper trimmed properly? Nothing preventing the lever from forcing back enough?

If you try a fresh trigger, I’d trim it with a little bit more left than usual. So that you have more area for the cam to push on earlier in the rotation.

Ok so I have done a lot more investigating into the problem that I’m having with my deAR22 SS and it’s not when the lever comes back forward, it’s not pushing the lever back enough to release the trigger. It likes about 2mm letting it release before it goes back forward.
