I had 2-3 magazines run fine on the SCS the first time i tried them https://guncadindex.com/detail/SCS-Kabuto:f but haven’t been able to replicate that initial success since. There we’re dudes on fosscad saying that fully printed TURDS worked well for thousands of rounds so i tried that as well but on my carbine buffer weight, midlength gas, low shelf, 16" with 55gr i couldn’t get it to run at all.

i tried tweaking my buffer weight with the Odin works adjustable buffer https://www.odinworks.com/Adjustable-Buffer-p/os-abs.htm but every combination with the heavy body from h1-h3 didnt work at all

I’ve tried a couple of the housings but ive never had the arm get stuck under a bcg. Ethan told me on the DD chat that he had to remove the buffer tube to get the turds arm unwedged under his BCG

can you elaborate on the issue, and tell us what lower and fcg are you using? Are you sure its not the rifle ie, buffer, gas system, bcg?

Here are 3 checks I run when fitting a new TURD.

      1. When you function check the TURD with the upper receiver on, does it work as expected? Does it work as expected in both semi and FRT settings? During the function check, especially in semi, did you get trigger slap? If so, that might indicate the the tail of the trigger timing bar (part the contact the trigger) needs to be shaved down. Also check the top of the trigger timing bar for signs of impact, the top may need to be filed down as your bolt is impacting it. The bolt should move freely without signs of hang up through the entire process, especially in semi, if you get hung up, it is a good chance you need to file down your trigger timing bar.
      2. If everything there is good. Is it that the lever drops down to far and binds up the bcg? If so you can try a housing with a spring or screw to keep it up. Also, round the edges of the lever where is interacts with the bcg.
      3. Check your timing, if you are getting hammer follow, and you have ruled out bolt bounce, check the timing of the hammer release. Unfortunately here is trickier as if you are releasing to early, either print another TURD, or try to file the back of the lever to give more time before it is in the position to release the hammer. But this only will work to a point obviously, and you will probably want the spring or screw to keep it from depressing to far.

EDIT: One more thing, if the trigger is falling forward and getting under the hammer, you cam make a note of where the hammer is when cocked, then drill a small hole just behind it and in front of the metal parts (being sure to not inhibit the movement of the trigger timing bar, else you will lose semi) and use a small metal rod or even some filament to prevent the lever from over traveling forward.

Finally, check your gas block and ammo. When I first tested my version of the TURD, I could not get it to run. Almost gave up, but I was using Frontier 223 ammo and turns out the extra drag on the bcg from the TURD, coupled with the weak ammo and probably out of spec gas port was the issue. Switched to green tip and 193s and it ran like a champ.
