A rifling button is basically a machine tool that gets pushed through the barrel forcefully using a hydraulic press to cut the rifling into it.

On the other hand, the ECM (electrochemical machining) method is completely different and has its own benefits/drawbacks. It’s great if you don’t have access to buttons or presses, but you do have a 3D printer.
